研ADMISSION PROCEDURES FOR FOREING STUDENTS:
彰武共济1. Applicants must be in good health, no more than 55 years of age, and of good character
and conduct.
2. Applicants should write a leter of inquiry to the Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet
University at the mailing address below. Recommendations from the applicant's schools
or other organizations may also be included.
3. The Foreign Affairs Office will then send an "Application Form for Foreign (Overseas)
Students." The completed application should be received by this office no later than
three
months before the beginning of the semester. A non-refundable registration fee of $30
in US currency must accompany the application.(Personal checks,postal money orders,and other
bank documents cannot be processed for this purpose)
4. Within two months, successful applicants will receive an "Admission Notice"and a"JW202
Form" These documents should be presented to any Chinese Embassy to apply for an "X Visa"
(student status) for permission to enter China for study. Students should arrive in time
for University registration.
5. All students will be required to obey the laws and regulations of the People's R
epublic of China,as the regulations of Tibet University.
FEES
1. Standard Tuition Fee Schedule(payment in US dollars):
- 14-20 weeks(counted as one semester): US$1000 total
- 1 year (2 semesters): US$2000 total
2. Accommodation Fee Schedule (in US dollars):
- In Foreign Student Building
Private room with toilet, hot shower, kitchen, and
central heating(Nov,-March): US$5to $6 per day.
-In Foreign Student Dormitory:
Private room with kitchen and cold water, Shared toilets. No showers or
central heating.(Nearby public showers available off-campus):US$4per day.
3. Other costs:
Meals,medical insurance and treatment,textbooks,and other study materials
are the responsibility of the student.
Field trips within the city of Lhasa will be included in the tuition fees.
Other guided field trips will be arranged by the University at reasonable rates.
DATES
Students should arrive during the first two weeks of Septerbe.(Fall Semester)or
March
(Spring Semester) for registration and to adjust to Lhasa's altitude and
to the campus living situation. Classes normally begin by the middle of the month
and continue for 19-20 weeks.
SUMMER STUDY PROGRAMS
From May through August: One and two month privately arranged
Tibetan study programs are available
Requirements Six or more participants attending as a group,
sponsored or recommended by a school or other organization.
FEES:
Tuition: US$75per week.

COURSES:
Tibetan Language: Listening and speaking useful phrases and sentences.
Lectures(in English):Tibetan history customs and culture.
